About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to support daily operations while managing key financial and revenue responsibilities. This unique position combines traditional hotel leadership with hands-on involvement in accounts, reservations, and reporting.

 

The Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day hotel operations, particularly Front Office and Reservations.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel's operation in absence of the General Manager with a high level of customer service provided at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate yield controls to maximize the Hotel revenue from all distribution channels.
  • Monitor and evaluate market demand trends, ensuring all rates are loaded and inventory maintenance is correct in all systems.
  • Ensure a positive and motivating work culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Uphold brand standards and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in month-end revenue reconciliation and financial reporting.
  • Manage accommodation rate updates and distribution across booking platforms.
  • Monitor occupancy and rate performance, identifying opportunities for revenue optimisation.
  • You will be responsible for maximising commercial performance and profitability for Mantra at Sharks, increasing RevPAR and market share on the Gold Coast.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using property management systems (eg. Opera) and Microsoft Suite
  • Strong organizational skills including quick follow up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L statements.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and providing an outstanding guest experience
