At Southport Sharks, we're seeking a highly experienced Trade Services Supervisor with a proven track record in leading trade maintenance operations and project management.  

About the role

Reporting to and working closely with the Facilities Maintenance Manager, and other maintenance supervisors, this position is responsible for leading and performing a wide range of maintenance including taking a hands-on approach to the management of trades and projects across the property.  This role is pivotal in the project management and successful completion of day to day and capital projects.

The responsibilities 

• Supervise and perform a wide range of skilled trades work, including installation, repair and refurbishment across the venue.
• Interpret and work from drawing and technical specification to complete required works.
• Ensure compliance with QBCC regulations, Building Code of Australia and WHS requirements.
• Manage trade contractors and permanent trades to ensure completion of duties to the highest standards.
• Liaise with other Maintenance Supervisors to coordinate staffing and task allocation across the wider team.
• Work with the Facilities Maintenance Manager to plan work and minimise operational disruption. 
• Provide advice or technical input on capital works, refurbishments and facilities planning.
• Contribute to asset management and preventative maintenance systems. 

About you

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in a trade (Carpentry or Electrical) with strong project management experience.  Additionally, you will have: 

• Strong understanding of Queensland building codes, constructions methods and materials
• Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team to achieve successful outcomes
• Extensive knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices in line with Queensland's legislation 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to priorities tasks efficiently.  
• HVAC knowledge and experience preferred
