Southport Sharks boasts a diverse range of food and beverage outlets, multi-purpose Events Centre with capacity for 1000 people, gaming room, kids' zone Health and Fitness Centre and a 120 room Mantra Hotel which includes a breath-taking rooftop bar. About the Role … We are seeking an experienced Commis Chef to work on a Full Time basis within a tight knit team you'll be working alongside chefs with years of knowledge to further develop your skillset. To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following: - Qualified with a minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
- Food Safety Hygiene qualification
Key Responsibilities Include: - Working in a busy venue with a highly skilled team
- Keeping a sharp attention to detail
- Ensure that food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are carried out according to established recipes and standards.
- Utilise your creative expertise in cookery to produce high quality meals for customers.
- Assist in the trianing of other chefs/apprentices/trainees to encourage excellent quality and production of menu items.
- Monitor food quality and ensure policies and hygiene standards are maintained, reporting any deviations to the Head Chef
- Promote safe work practices in the kitchen
- Liaise with Sous Chef, Chef D'Partie, Head Chef regarding workflow requirements.
Preferred skills and experience: - Experience in a multi-faceted kitchen
- Familiarity with the Food Safety Act
- Time Management skills is a must
- Ability to work well under pressure
