Southport Sharks is seeking inspirational, driven and development focused coaches to lead the next chapter of one of Queensland’s leading women’s football programs.

We are seeking applications for:

• QAFLW Senior Head Coach
• QAFLW Reserves Head Coach
• QAFLW Strength and Conditioning Coach 

Our women’s program enters 2027 from a position of significant strength.

In 2026, our Seniors secured their fourth consecutive minor premiership, won 12 consecutive games and progressed to the QAFLW Grand Final. Our Reserves completed an undefeated season and secured a historic third consecutive premiership.

Now we want to go further.

The Opportunity 

This is an opportunity to lead within an established and highly successful women’s football program, backed by the resources, facilities and ambition of Southport Sharks. We are looking for coaches who can inspire players, build strong relationships and create an environment where high standards, accountability and enjoyment coexist.

Our successful coaches will:

• Create a high performance, positive and inclusive football environment
• Develop and communicate a clear football philosophy and game plan
• Inspire players to continually improve individually and collectively
• Build strong relationships and provide quality, regular feedback
• Drive high standards around preparation, training and performance
• Work collaboratively across the Seniors and Reserves programs to create a strong player pathway
• Develop and support assistant coaches and broader football staff
• Contribute positively to the culture and continued growth of women's football at Southport Sharks

Who We're Looking For

You may already be an experienced Head Coach, an Assistant Coach ready to take the next step, or an emerging coach with strong football knowledge and leadership capability.

Most importantly, we want someone who is passionate about women's football, genuinely invested in player development and excited by the opportunity to take an already successful program to another level.

Relevant AFL coaching accreditation and experience within a high performance or senior football environment will be highly regarded.
